“The Power of Purpose”
with Richard Leider
Day 3
Pre-Read: “The Purpose Check-Up” by Richard Leider.
This resource guides readers through a self-assessment across different life dimensions (having, doing, and being). It serves as a practical tool, encouraging participants to reflect on how they are living their purpose daily and reinforcing the idea of purpose as a practice.
Task 1: Post-it Note Purpose Statement: Refine your insights into a one-sentence purpose statement and write it on a Post-it. Place this where you’ll see it daily (Mirror, Monitor, etc.)
(e.g., "To empower teams to work with purpose and authenticity, creating positive change together.")
Why it works: This statement expresses a desire to lead and motivate teams, reflecting the person’s values of collaboration, authenticity, and positive impact.
Task 2: Purpose in Action: Post a photo of your Post-it note (in its final location if possible) or type out your purpose statement in the chat. Share one immediate action you’ll take today or this week that aligns with this purpose.
Ask for feedback and give feedback on other’s Purpose Statements and/or immediate actions
